The 2017 Chashama Gala and the “Art is Everywhere” after party took place at 4 Times Square, presenting the work of over 150 artists.
The organization, which converts unused real estate into artist spaces, transformed the former offices of Vanity Fair into a playground of interactive installations. Installations in the event include make-shift hair salon Edisa Week’s Delirious Hair Designs and Zena Loxton’s virtual reality meditation experience “Now is Beautiful.”
The Chashama Gala honored Pentagram, the world’s largest independent design consultancy and artist Sir Shadow. Real estate executives Joe McMillan of DDG and Darcy Stacom of CBRE were also recognized during the event.
The event raised $470,000, supporting Chashama’s goal of providing artists with space to create and present their work over the next year.
