Zeckendorf Development hosted a cocktail reception on the terraces of the newly completed condominium, 18 Gramercy Park, on June 4th, 2014.

The Greater New York Construction User Council (GNYCUC) hosted its 2014 Chairman’s Reception in Equity Office’s retail space, The Retail @ 5 Bryant Park. GNYCUC honored Jay Badame, President and Chief Operating Officer of New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Mid-Atlantic operations at Tishman Construction Corporation, as well as New York City’s top construction projects of 2014. More than 250 New York City construction industry developers, owners and managers attended the event.

The ceremony recognized Mr. Badame for his exceptional leadership and dedication to quality development throughout the New York City area. With over 30 years of extensive construction industry experience, Mr. Badame played a key role in Tishman Construction Corporation’s expansion on the east coast, and has helped establish the firm as a leader in New York City’s construction market.

In addition, GNYCUC honored exceptional construction projects of 2014 that included:

  • Sports Arena: Madison Square Garden
  • Higher Education: CUNY Advanced Science Research Center
  • Infrastructure: Delta Air Line’s Terminal 4 Headhouse at JFK International Airport

The Real Estate Board of New York (REBNY) bestowed top honors for the most creative and
significant New York City retail deals of 2013 on Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at the annual Retail
Deal of the Year Awards. The top two knock-out deals selected from an array of 18 retail
transactions were announced at the Retail Committee’s annual cocktail reception held at Club
101.
The Most Ingenious Retail Deal of the Year that demonstrates exceptional broker acumen
(ingenuity & creativity) was presented to Richard B. Hodos of CBRE, Inc. for “A Marriage Made
in (Marketing) Heaven: The Polo/Ralph Lauren Lease at 711 Fifth Avenue.”
The Most Significant Retail Deal of the Year that recognizes the most significant retail deal in its
overall characteristics and importance to the New York City retail market was awarded to Peter
Ripka of Ripco Real Estate Corp. for “A NYC Retail Journey: Barneys Comes Home – 107
Seventh Avenue.”

200 of New York’s top real estate industry luminaries gathered for the AIPAC Real Estate Division’s annual summer reception, and an exclusive look inside Extell Development Company’s One57 building. The 90-story tower – the tallest residential building in New York – is still under construction, but guests got a sneak peek at the unparalleled 360-degree views that will belong to the owner of this unit, listed for sale at $30 million. The reception was organized in support of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, Washington’s Pro-Israel lobby. AIPAC’s New York Real Estate Division was founded in 2008 and has grown to over 500 members. The 2014 AIPAC Real Estate Luncheon on October 27th will be chaired by industry giants Milton Cooper (Kimco Realty Corp.), Daniel Benedict (Benedict Realty Group), Justin Green (HaysVentures LLC) and Ofer Yardeni (Stonehenge Partners, Inc.) The Director of AIPAC’s Real Estate Division is Joseph Nadis.

Commercial real estate’s future was on the menu at the Commercial Real Estate Women’s Network (CREW) Tri-State Interchapter Dinner, hosted by NYCREW Network.

Held at Vermilion restaurant in New York City, the dinner and raffle also included members from CREW CT, CREWNJ and the Association of Real Estate Women, who raised funds for the CREW Network Foundation, the only foundation whose resources are dedicated solely to advancing women in real estate. The event also included a rousing speech from Liz Abzug, founder of the Bella Abzug Leadership Institute.
